Job Description

Klarnas growth journey continues and our infrastructure evolves all the time. To keep up with the pace we are now in need of another experienced Network Engineer that will take a monumental part in both daily operations and strategic work. Klarna handles millions of transactions every year and our organisation is implementing more and more business-critical systems to address the needs of our expanding business. We have several offices in Europe as well as US.


ITOPS Core Services consist of sysadmins, network engineers and telephony administrators. As a part of the network team you will be working with several teams within Klarna but perhaps most closely together with our sysadmins and the security team, SecOps. We need you to be able to communicate clearly and understand the need from the business.


The network team is responsible for Data Center network, office networks, internal and external connectivity. You will be using your wide experience in both LAN and WAN technologies. We work with advanced data center switch fabrics, high performance firewalls and load balancers as well as smaller remote office firewalls and switches.

We believe in automating boring and repetitive tasks. To do this we like you to have experience in Python and Ansible.


To be comfortable in your role at Klarna we expect you to have good knowledge in network techniques like:

  • Switching
  • Routing
  • Firewalls
  • Load balancers
  • Wireless
  • IPSEC and VPN


We also appreciate knowledge and experience in:

  • DDOS protection systems
  • Monitoring tools
  • Scripting, python, ansible
  • Amazon Web services
  • Akamai services
  • Authentication services like 802.1x, radius, NPS, LDAP
  • Linux/Windows server OS
  • Linux/Windows/MAC clients
