The team:

Fundsquire is an innovative financing company that helps high-tech businesses get access to alternative funding here in the UK, in Canada and Australia. Our service is new, it is tremendously useful to our clients and we’re building even more value into it as we grow. And we’ve grown a lot in the last two years. As we continue to reach new heights, we’re looking for an ambitious Credit Analyst to join our investment team to make recommendations on transactions.

Your role:

We are at an exciting juncture in our journey and as we grow we are in need of an extra set of hands to work on increasing deal flow. This role suits someone who wants to gain transaction experience, who wants to learn and develop in the role and grow their skill set as we scale. We’re a small team & you'll report directly to the Senior Credit Analyst and will work closely with the Origination Team & Senior Management as you'll have opportunities to contribute to our business in a whole range of ways.

What you’ll do (main responsibilities):

  • You'll be part of the underwriting team & as such will work on all aspects of the transaction process, particularly financial modelling and company due diligence
  • Prepare detailed credit files for Committee Review to support your recommendations
  • Complete pre and post term sheet due diligence to ensure our decision making is inline with our risk parameters
  • Maintain credit files on an ongoing basis, undertaking monthly financial reviews of the current loan book to ensure loan facilities are compliant
  • Build strong relationships with clients & our internal Fundsquire teams

What you’ll do (secondary responsibilities):

  • Refine our credit model
  • Build and refine our systems & processes
  • Identify commercial opportunities to build the Fundsquire brand

Requirements

  • Experience undertaking financial analysis
  • You have a “hands on” mentality and relish the opportunity to adapt, working within a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • You constantly strive to do things more efficiently without compromising quality, using technology and
    systems to improve business performance
  • You are passionate about working with and supporting customers on their growth trajectory

Nice to haves:

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified or equivalent
  • CFA or working towards the CFA designation
  • Data and analysis skills and the ability to generate insights and recommendations using SQL
  • Background in Tech &/or FinTech
  • Knowledge of or experience with R&D Tax Credit or R&D Financing
  • Experience starting and scaling a business or working in the startup world
