Full time Content Marketing Social Media

Job Description

Who we are

TransferWise was founded in 2011 with a clear mission: Money without borders - so people and businesses can send and receive any currency effortlessly, whenever, wherever.

Sure, the heart of what we do is international money transfer. And we’re committed to making it instant, convenient and fair for millions of people, all over the world. But we’re growing our other products and our teams at an exciting pace. And we’re looking for the very best to jump on board.

What it’s really like to work here

At TransferWise, we do things a bit differently. There’s no corporate nonsense, and no old-fashioned hierarchy. Instead, we work in dozens of self-sufficient, autonomous teams. Think of them like start-ups within a start-up.

Each team picks the problems they want to solve. So there’s no micro-management. No hiding behind fancy job titles. And no one telling you what to do. But you’ll get tons of guidance and plenty of support from talented, super-smart colleagues from all over TransferWise.

The way we work doesn’t suit everyone. But if freedom, autonomy, and life-affirming, head-scratching professional challenges rock your world, we could be a match made in heaven.

A bit about the job

We’re looking for someone who knows social media like the back of their hand, is data-driven and has a proven understanding of how to grow and manage an engaged and evangelical audience. This isn’t just a role where you’ll be tasked with ‘boosting engagement MoM’ - we’re on a mission to make finance fair and you’ll need to show that you’re helping our audience make smart financial decisions to help grow the TransferWise revolution.

Finding clever, engaging ways to bring our content and data to life on social media will be at the heart of the role. You’ll be growing our organic audience and supporting our in-house paid social team with content production. You’ll have excellent editorial judgement and know how to educate customers through good quality content.

You’ll be joining our performance marketing team, but will work closely with our creative, PR and design teams to ensure the content we produce is the best in class - and consistent.

So while we need someone who ‘gets’ social, we also need someone who can get to the heart of how we help our users and change the world for the better. If that’s you, read on.

What will you get to do?

  • You’ll work with our paid social team to plan content themes to help reach our target audiences - if it works you’ll scale it across markets using our team of freelance writers. Fast.
  • Our customers drive our growth. You’ll be at the frontline of communicating with them and helping them spread the word about TransferWise on social media.
  • Identify relevant social media influencers - and help them create great content to promote TransferWise to their audiences.
  • Management of our blog and social media calendars and platforms.
  • Test, test, test. If there’s something you think our audiences will love, you’ll have the freedom to test it (except cat gifs. We’re done with cat gifs).

You’ll love this role if you…

  • Have hands on experience managing social media for a fast growing brand or startup.
  • Put the customer first, always. There is no point in social media unless you understand how you’re helping the end user.
  • Have a flair for writing great copy (can spot a typo from 100 yards, ideally further) and know what quality content looks like and won’t settle for anything less.
  • Like getting stuck in. You’ll have the freedom to focus where you think you can truly make an impact.
  • A solid understanding of paid social and SEO.
  • Being able to accurately define and measure the success of content marketing is essential.
  • Have a good understanding of Google Analytics, Facebook for Business, Twitter, Sprout Social (or similar engagement tool).
Some important stuff we would like you to know

To meet our regulatory obligations as a licensed financial services company, TransferWise needs to take background checks on all new hires, which may include Criminal and Credit checks. Please discuss with the Recruiter if you have any concerns regarding this process.

We want to make sure that our recruitment process is accessible to everyone. So if you need any reasonable adjustments – at any point in the process – we’ll do our best to help. Just let us know what you need on your application form. You might need a reasonable adjustment if you’ve got a disability. Or maybe you live overseas, and you’d prefer to meet us over Skype.

Please don’t send anything to the adjustments address if you’re a recruiter, or if you’re making a speculative application. We do work with recruiters from time to time – but only through LinkedIn. And we only accept job applications when a position is actually open. So you’re better off just checking the recruitment pages regularly.
