The Systems Administrator will be focused on managing and maintaining various technologies and systems within Backbase’s IT landscape. This includes, but is not limited to, operating systems, network infrastructure and server/storage systems. You will be working within the ICT department on implementation of new technologies within the company, and will provide end-user support and troubleshooting for office-based and remote-based personnel (as required).
This position reports to the Head of ICT. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-oriented and enjoys working within a team environment.
Support of the server estate with a focus on Linux systems administration
Manage the LAN & WAN environments, including firewalls, routers & switches
Ensuring backup & restore operations are implemented and tested
Service availability using monitoring & alerting tools
Knowledge of security best practices including auditing, penetration testing & intrusion detection
Experience with high availability and disaster recovery scenarios.

Operating systems: Deep understanding of Centos 6/7, RedHat. Experience with Windows servers an advantage.
Services: Tomcat, Apache, Nginx
Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL
Management & automation tooling: Ansible (preferred), Puppet, Chef
Monitoring technologies; Zabbix, Nagios
Virtualisation: VMware vSphere 5 & 6, VDP, vMotion, HA, Replication
Storage technologies such as SAN/NAS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, RAID, LUN management
Cisco routing and switching technologies including ASA/ISR devices
Networking: Site-to-site VPN technologies, static/dynamic routing, ACLs, NAT, firewalls
Knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure or similar
