The opportunity
The Visual Designer we’re looking for at Backbase is innovative, passionate about communication design, and has incredible attention to detail.
As part of our busy global marketing team, you will shape and define a cohesive design system that will be applied across both print and digital. This will include (but not be limited to) brochures, reports, flyers, exhibition stands, web design, powerpoint desks, online advertising, social media collateral, and using your creative flair to invent new ways to introduce Backbase to the world.
You will collaborate with various departments across multiple disciplines (such as sales, R & D, and Professional Services), and so the ability to really listen to other people’s ideas and bring them to life is an important part of this role. This visualisation should be balanced with design best practices and keeping the brand at the heart of all design work.
You will bring concepts to life via storyboards, mockups, and will impress us with visual stories that support us across a wide variety of different topics. With a genuine passion for design, your ears will be attuned to the very latest skills and techniques that will help to push us forward as a business and stay at the forefront of design and technology.
You will report to the Head of Content, and will be based in Amsterdam. This role is full-time, but a part-time role will also be considered.
Your profile
You should have 3-5 years’ experience designing brand identities, including grid systems, editorial layouts and digital experiences across different devices. You can create and maintain pixel perfect style guides, use Adobe Creative Suite in your sleep, and spot a typo from 10m away.
The Backbase team operate in a fast paced environment, so the role requires someone who can multi-task, prioritise and organise their own time effectively.

written and verbal fluency in English
presentation skills
stakeholder management, including the ability to clearly validate your design choices.
