The Software Architect is a member of the Backbase R&D team, a multidisciplinary team of experienced and highly skilled UX designers, software developers, test engineers, technical writers and support engineers. The team is responsible for the entire software development life cycle of our digital banking product suite.
You will contribute to the quality of our software products, helping to realize successful customer implementations by our Professional Services consultants and Integration Partners. We work in Scrum teams in order to deliver new functionality in every release, closely cooperating with Product Managers and the Professional Services team.
As part of the Products team, you will report to the Platform architect of the tribe, and will support one or more of our Scrum teams to develop new functionality for the Digital Banking Platform. You take ownership for the technical design, working closely with other architects to ensure company-wide alignment, and with developers, testers and other team members to ensure the technical vision is known and used during development activities.
You will be hands on, capable of coaching developers whilst illustrating, organising and ensuring the correct software is delivered in cross capability feature teams.
You drive technology innovation and refactoring initiatives. People turn to you for advice based on your sound experience and deep technical understanding of software development, practices and frameworks.

As a software architect you will be leading the way in ensuring we can meet all of these complex requirements, whilst ensuring Backbase is aware of and using the latest technology to keep our customers ahead of the competition.
Your profile
You have a solid background in internet banking solutions, being able to communicate your knowledge clearly and confidently across all levels of an organization. The role involves collaboration with a broad range of specialists, internally and with our customers. Your experience should cover banking, payments and mobile solutions at product development and/or consultancy level).
