As Head of DevOps, you will continue employing DevOps principles within our company, accelerating the change we already started. It’s up to you how to bring it all together, taking the company on the path you want it to go.
We have matured our internal tools, and the teams are aligned to adopt a new culture, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. Your list of achievements should include shorter release cycles, more deployments, less failures, higher productivity, and greater customer satisfaction.
What will you be doing?
You will be defining the DevOps strategy – implementing policies and deciding where to invest. You determine the plan for the next six months, plus the long-term strategy. More important is your commitment to your teams. You will have daily interactions with our R&D specialists and will liaise with customers, and in this highly visible role you interact across the company, visiting teams on-site and taking them out for beers to reward their hard work. In your presence, cohesion between teams is promoted and effective communication is increased. Everything is aimed at employing the DevOps philosophy in our work processes and maintaining a solid service stability.
You’re also not afraid of getting your hands dirty by doing some development work yourself. Furthermore, you dedicate yourself to investigating tools available in the market, improving each and every area of the systems. You will continuously work on further developing environments. In unusual situations, your expert knowledge guides you in making the right decisions. You will also have the option to speak at events, promoting DevOps and Backbase.
