Liveware Group are a leading UK Fintech Recruitment studio, We source talented individuals to work with start-up and established fintech companies throughout the UK.

We are currently working with an established but growing fintech organisation who are keen to source a suitably qualified Backend Developer based in either their London or Newcastle offices (Remote working may be available temporarily due to Covid-19).

The Role

As a Backend Developer/Software Engineer you will play an integral role withing the team responsible for innovative core banking technology platforms. You will collaborate with other teams to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility, assisting with architecture and design of new and current systems. Creating Backend application architecture for performance, scalability and robustness while making use of the latest technologies, reducing complexity and making development easier. 

Duties also include:

• Build backend services and banking support platforms
• Write and maintain high quality code
• Contributing to your team's product road map
• Design data models and structures, API contracts and algorithms
• Following and enforcing software best practise and processes
• Delivering innovative solutions across the full development life cycle
• Continually enhancing and building a deep knowledge of the product suite
• Using and improving a broad modern technology stack
• Develop process solutions
• Ensure all developed components are robust and of quality
• Resolve QA defects

The Ideal Candidate will be/have:

• A degree (or similar) in computer science or relevant field
• Good knowledge of cloud based microservices
• Knowledge of both functional and object-oriented programming
• Worked in an agile environment
• Ability to write well documented, clean code
• Experienced with Python, Java, SQL & NoSQL
• API knowledge
