Position Overview

Within Wealth Management, Global Products & Solutions (GP&S) Capital Markets comprises of trading execution and advisory across all asset classes, including equities, fixed income and structured products.

Requirements:

DB Wealth Management Capital Markets is the trade execution hub for orders received from WM clients. The MiFID II regulation (effective from 3/1/2018) specifies Best Execution obligations (among a vast number of other requirements) for investment firms who execute orders for clients. Among these obligations is the need to put in place a Best Execution Monitoring process. This will be a periodic ex-post (after the fact) process which looks at trades executed in one of the previous quarters and provides observations based on this analysis that seek to improve execution quality in the succeeding quarters. The team in Mumbai shall produce the quarterly pack that includes the analysis of trades executed in each WM CM region. This pack will be the basis for the Broker Governance Committee to provide strategic direction to improve execution in future quarters. Once process is mature, the same team is envisaged for other related work that will be defined subsequently.

Job responsibilities:

 Be able to receive trade data feeds for all instrument classes from WM CM desks in all four global locations (Germany, EMEA for Day 1 then extending to Americas and APAC desks too)

 If automated feeds unavailable from these locations, manually scrubbing trade data from existing reports produced in the locations

 Observe data quality issues in trade feed and work with stakeholders to overcome these issues

 Work closely with London based regulatory change team to develop understanding of booking models (agency vs back to back) that are followed per instrument per region and mode of order fulfillment (transmission vs execution)

 Learn the usage of Bloomberg TCA tool

 Responsible for producing the Best Execution pack for use by the quarterly Global Best Ex Monitoring forum

 Work closely with London based regulatory change team to agree specifics of the way in which the quarterly material for Broker Governance forum is to be prepared

 Use Bloomberg TCA tool to perform a benchmarking analysis for instrument types where external benchmarking is supported (Equities, Bonds, Listed Derivatives, FX Derivatives). Prepare charts to depict relative performance of the brokers used for executing these instruments

 Prepare charts that track the ranking migration of brokers over successive quarters

 Conduct analysis of RFQ (Request for Quote) data and prepare charts to depict which counterparties have been providing better quotes

 Liaise with GT/ Ops / Business colleagues in each of the WM CM locations to discuss matters related to completeness of trade feeds from those regions

 Participate in conducting UAT before going into production mode

Profile of candidate preferred:

 Person with post-graduate level degree and analytical skills

 Minimum of 5-7 years work experience – preferably on projects involving communication with global cross-divisional stakeholders

 Proficient with statistical analysis and preparing charts and graphs

 Would be ideal (but not a must-have) if candidate has some prior understanding of how client orders are executed (directing to brokers for exchange execution vs Request for Quote)

 Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across Operations, Business and Technology

 Ability to deliver high quality deliverables

 Good communication skills and can clearly articulate blockers / challenges
