Working closely with the business, compliance professionals ensure that our risk based programme is both globally effective and locally anchored to our key divisional businesses. As an independent and robust second level control function, the Compliance Department seeks to manage compliance risk and deepen the culture of compliance at Deutsche Bank through the development and management of strategies that are sustainable and increases the trust of our clients.


Position Overview


Job title: Compliance Regulatory Advisor Officer
Corporate Title: Associate / Assistant Vice President
Division: Compliance
Location: London


You’ll be assisting with managing the regulatory compliance and regulatory adherence processes across the United Kingdom and Ireland (UKI) and Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA).

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Tracking emerging regulation and as appropriate, in partnership with the business and Compliance, overseeing the implementation of new policies, procedures and controls in order to address new legislative or regulatory requirements
  • Reviewing and analysing relevant regulatory notices. Liaising and advising front line businesses and Compliance, to ensure compliance with regulatory developments
  • Ensuring that all material regulatory developments are fully and consistently understood at  Local, Regional and Global levels (where applicable)
  • Engaging with both relevant business and infrastructure functions to ensure (where Compliance is not the lead) that material regulatory developments and trends are identified, assessed and recorded consistently
  • Liaising effectively with other control functions to support the above process changes
  • Organising and conducting face-to-face training with various business areas, infrastructure functions and Compliance on important regulatory developments
  • Assisting with compiling Management Information for senior management on the identification and interpretation of new applicable laws and regulations

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in an investment bank, either within a Compliance or Legal team, a law firm, or regulatory body
  • Regulatory background, including an understanding of both UK and European financial services regulation and legislation
  • Good work experience in the Financial industry
  • Business facing experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Analytical and structured thinking
  • Self-initiative, problem solving oriented, action driven
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and multi-cultural understanding
  • Educated to Bachelor`s degree level (or equivalent qualification / work experience)
