Following the growing demand from the market, we are expanding the Delivery team with an  Director of Software Development Delivery

 

Who you are

The Director of Software Development Delivery (DSDD) is responsible for supporting the Chief Delivery Officer (CDO) on strategic and operational level. The DSDD is responsible for the (implementation of) the primary process and continuously works on the efficiency of the primary process. Also responsible for setting up and monitoring the steering of the Development Delivery Department including third parties; based on contracts, SLA’s and kpi’s (e.g. Scrum and software quality metrics).

The DSDD drives the quality of the development teams based on the performance and control of the scrum teams: resource, risk and issue management. Where necessary supports with searching for solutions on issues with teams etc. You will manage a team of approximately 15 FTE.

The actions of the DSDD will always have an influence on the quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness of the Delivery department. The DSDD can identify dependencies between all projects and the roadmap, Linking pin between Product Development Centre and the Software Development Delivery Organization. As deputy CDO, advising and supporting the CDO on strategy and tactical operations.

You are part of the Delivery team located in the Netherlands and you will report to the Chief Delivery Officer

Your Challenges

  • HR responsibility for Delivery Development Resources;
  • Resource planning of Delivery Development Resources;
  • Supporting development of delivery strategy and operational delivery strategy including steering
  • Continuous improving the primary process, including monitoring
  • Setting up, implementation of monitoring projects.
  • Align with and prepare requested information for Finance & Control
  • Align with (inter)departmental stakeholders: Project managers, Implementation Consultants, Team Leads, Scrum masters, etc
  • Align with Director of Business Services, Director of Client Services and PM’s on workload forecasting
  • Supporting Director of Business Services, Director of Client Services and PM’s on solving priority issues on delivery to clients
  • Implement and safeguard compliance with software development methodology and reporting standards
  • Measure knowledge of employees

Desired skills

  • Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or equivalent experience; relevant management experience 3-5 year’s;
  • Knowledge of Software Development Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban a.o.) and the Software Development life cycle;
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD;
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion;
  • Experience in managing multiple teams executing projects for clients in both on-site and distributed way of working;
  • Experience in working and managing multiple partners;
  • Ability to act under pressure;
  • Effective leadership skills;
  • Banking expertise is a plus;
  • Clear and concise communication skills both verbally and written (English)
