Job Description

As a Data Engineer, you will serve as a data and analytics expert by sourcing, structuring and analyzing data in order to improve GeoPhy's database and enabling GeoPhy to become even more sophisticated in its approach to managing incoming data streams. You will be responsible for structuring data in a highly automated way in order for it to be processed into meaningful insights.   • Set up multiple new high quality data pipelines, which require no or very limited maintenance by automating data input processes and effectively scaling these. Helping us gather the data that we need for our clients
  • Effectively collect, assimilate and organize data from a wide variety of sources
  • Remain in control of the quality of data input at all times
  • Familiarize with existing data entry structure and propose / exercise ways to significantly simplify and improve processes (specifically on lower maintenance)
  • Identify new opportunities, bottle-necks and efficiency-issues
  • Actively coach team members to increase workflow efficiency
  • Bring solutions to day-to-day challenges
  • Contribute in a positive way to the atmosphere within the team


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant role
  • Passion for data
  • Distinctive problem solving and analytic skills with a high degree of analytical rigor
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently collect, assimilate and organize data from multiple sources
  • Demonstrable familiarity with SQL, Python, Java, SPARQL and RDF.
  • Understanding of data management and entry processes
  • A quick learner with regards to (new) technology
  • Desire and eagerness to contribute to the success of the company and grow along with it
  • Independently driven, proactive, accountable, and reliable team player
  • Full working proficiency in English
