The Team

The NIBC M&A team is a young and dynamic team that consists of around 15 professionals. The M&A team provides financial and strategic advice on mergers, acquisitions, disposals, buyouts, valuations, capital markets transactions, and corporate development, combining first-class execution expertise with an in-depth understanding of the sector and the challenges our clients face. All this is done in close co-operation with NIBC’s sector specialists.

 

Team members work closely together, share knowledge and support each other in both client deliverables and personal development. We drive results by stretching ourselves and going the extra mile. We constantly strive to improve efficiency and effectiveness, working in a structured, goal-oriented way that benefits all the stakeholders of NIBC. NIBC M&A is looking for an associate to further strengthen our team. As an associate you are an important part of a deal team. You are involved in both origination and execution of transactions. The contribution of the associate will vary per assignment and comprises amongst others of the following activities:

  • Identifying potential business opportunities
  • Conducting valuations and other financial analyses
  • Preparing and presenting documents for client meetings
  • Coordinating of execution activities including financial analysis, transaction documentation and process management
  • Managing activities of analysts and interns, being responsible for the combined output
  • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders involved in transactions including team members, professionals from other departments of NIBC as well as clients and external advisors

 

Who are we looking for?

  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience within M&A, private equity, corporate development or strategy consulting
  • Outstanding professional communication skills towards stakeholders within and outside NIBC, fluent in both Dutch and English
  • Broad experience in and in-depth knowledge of a wide range of valuation techniques
  • Good commercial sense and keen to bring M&A opportunities to the attention of the department
  • Results oriented; "getting things done" mentality, business sense
  • Self-starting, pro-active and flexible team player contributing  to the team’s personal and professional development
  • Committed, determined and strong personality, eager to become an all-round M&A specialist
