What you will do in the role


As a successful Test Engineering Lead you will be balancing your role as a senior test engineer on an agile development team and mentoring team members within a culture of servant leadership.


Specific responsibilities are to:


  • Contribute all aspects of quality assurance including executing test plans and test cases based on user story generation
  • Apply industry best practices and develop new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met
  • Establish automated testing frameworks and share its benefits with the team
  • Influence the team around concepts of whole-team testing approaches
  • Mentor team members in automation testing strategy, implementation and the use of the technologies and tools selected
  • Balance the requirement to automate with the need to follow manual testing practices to ensure quality product delivery
  • Contribute to the delivery of all aspects of large, cross-functional product development
  • Be an active contributor to internal mentoring practices such as code katas and domain jams

What we are looking for; track record must haves


  • 5+ years of solid experience in test automation and its application in various types of testing (eg. functional, API, performance/load testing)
  • 7+ years of overall testing experience within a software development lifecycle
  • A strong understanding of quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • A proven track record working in a continuous delivery software development environment
  • You have worked with a number of automation test tools; you tell us which one
  • Experience selecting test automation opportunities and implementing automated testing tools and frameworks
  • Knowledge and practice of agile software development lifecycle methodologies including but not limited to Scrum and Kanban


Experience that would be nice to have (but we’ll trade off if everything else fits)


  • Ideally you have worked as a line manager in a servant leader role
  • Startup experience. Sometimes the earth moves beneath your feet at Prodigy Finance so you've got to be comfortable with ambiguity, able to wear lots of hats, and adapt easily as we continue to grow
