In November 2016 we announced our plans to build a next generation bank so that we can bring a greater range of smart, ethical finance products to even more people.   Role Overview   As the Senior Change Manager at Zopa you will lead and ensure that standardised methods and procedures are used for efficient handling of all Changes. A Change is a planned event that results in a new status of one or more configuration items (CIs) or a Software release or update, which is communicated to stakeholders, approved by management to take place. A Change may enhance a business process, fix a defect or bug, update software, firmware or hardware or be a general enhancement or improvement to Zopa’s Products, Services or Infrastructure – all to be managed to minimise negative impact to Zopa and its Customers. The main aims of Zopa Change Management include: ·       Minimal disruption of services during Change ·       No follow-on outages or defects introduced ·       Reduction in back-out activities ·       Economic use of resources involved in the Change   Common change management terminology includes: There are three types of changes at Zopa: Standard Change (pre-approved), Normal Change (follow the process), Urgent/Emergency Change (expedited approval).

 

Role responsibilities

    • Develop, refine and manage Change Process to aid safe adoption of new Technology Systems, Product Releases and updates
    • Identifying business Change impacts arising from Change
    • Assessing and advising on business readiness to Change
    • Assessing Change deployment / release process for completeness
    • Ensuring roll-back plans are available and executable
    • Working with Change benefit owners to ensure benefits are clearly defined, agreed, measured
    • Managing weekly CAB, documenting and communicating
    • Review and approve Changes
    • Ensure Changes are effectively communicated and approved by relevant stakeholders
    • End to end responsibility for Change Management
    • Review all Changes and ensure defined process has been followed
    • Release Management of Software for Product Tribes
    • Be an Evangelist for the Change Management Process
    • 09:00 to 17:30 weekdays, plus additional hours as required to support the function and business

Role requirements

    • Excellent succinct but detailed communication skills, written and verbal
    • Keeps a cool head under pressure
    • Excellent interpersonal, influencing skills, interacting appropriately with technical and business resources, driven but courteous
    • Demonstrable experience in a Change Management Role within IT
    • Understanding of Enterprise Architecture, on-prem and cloud IT environments
    • Strong analytical/fault finding/diagnostics/trouble-shooting skills
    • Methodical approach to problem solving and attention to detail
    • Kepner-Tregoe or similar exposure an advantage
    • Flexible and ‘can-do’ attitude
    • Effective time management skills; with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, shifting priorities, fluctuating workloads, deadline pressures
    • Degree level education or equivalent experience
    • ITIL Certified 
    • Strong technical competencies resulting from previous working experience at expert level within an IT operational or support environment.
    • Experience of Amazon Web Services and/or Google Cloud Platform
    • Virtualisation, containers, Kubernetes knowledge and experience desired
