BACKGROUND 

TradingScreen is the leading global provider of multi-broker, multi-asset class electronic trading solutions. An essential part of our business involves developing reliable and efficient trading connections between our trading systems and those of our buy-side and sell-side clients. These include major banks, brokerage firms, dealers, asset managers, fund managers and electronic exchanges. 

Network Engineer Overview 

We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in New York. This position will be responsible for TradingScreen’s global MPLS network including the design, implementation and full operational support of all TradingScreen’s network hardware and software. This is an opportunity to be part of the team that is building a high-performance network that is accessible to the global financial community. 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 

  • Experience of working on high availability/volume networks
  • Excellent knowledge of LAN & WAN, working with Cisco, Arista & Juniper switches/routers
  • Excellent knowledge of policy based/next gen firewalls, Checkpoint, Netscreen & Cisco
  • Knowledge of the OSI model, especially layers 2-4
  • Knowledge of WAN routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, VRFs, Multicast)
  • Knowledge of switching protocols, HSRP, VRRP, MPLS, Spanning Tree, MLAG, vPC, VLAN tagging
  • Knowledge of load balancing technologies, A10 or F5
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to perform hands-on work in Data Centers

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 5+ years’ experience in the financial industry
  • Industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, JNCP)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, solid understanding of TCP/IP and the use of traffic analyzers
  • Traffic engineering (QoS)
  • Experience with configuration management and deployment systems
  • Knowledge of JunOS
  • Knowledge of stateful firewalls, packet inspection and proxy technologies
  • Knowledge of Cloud integration, either AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Hand-on experience with multi-homed Internet connectivity
  • Knowledge of Cisco telephony
  • Experience with VPN (IPSEC, SSL, L2TP, PPTP)
  • Knowledge of Ruby and/or Perl
  • Familiar with change management policies
