Job Description

About Axial

Axial is the leading online deal network for the middle market. We help small and mid-sized companies raise capital or sell their business by connecting them to buyers, investors, and lenders. Nearly 7,000 deal were marketed on Axial in 2016.

The Role

This role will be laser-focused on Axial’s highest priority objective: to grow the number of M&A and capital raise transactions on our marketplace.

This is not a typical sales position. It blends sales and strategy, requires a mix of individual performance and cross-team collaboration, and deals in both account acquisition and relationship management. You will be challenged to sharpen your sales skills, operate in a fast-paced start-up environment, and be part of a team that is transforming Axial in the marketplace.

This is a fast-paced role that demands sales excellence, strong communication skills, and strategic and analytical thinking. A sharp understanding of the M&A transaction environment is a plus. We’re looking for candidates who have an insatiable appetite for growth and a demonstrated ability to learn rapidly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly communicate, in a consultative manner, with CEOs and M&A advisors to attract and engage them on our platform
  • Execute scaled, high-volume touchpoints to re-activate dormant users
  • Collaborate with demand generation to design, build, and test new ideas for growing and optimizing our lead funnel
  • Partner with marketing/content on the creation of new content assets, sales collateral, and other types of sales enablement and marketing assets
  • Contribute ideas for operational improvements that drive internal process efficiencies

  • 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, B2B sales for a software/tech company, or management consulting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of fundamental business metrics and the ability to analyze/interpret data to drive decision-making
  • Adept at building cross-functional collaboration and alignment
  • Strong organization and time management skills are essential
  • Direct experience in M&A and/or financial services is a plus
