About the role:

The Associate Referral Agent opportunity is a great place to start your career at OnDeck. The intention of this unique position is for bright junior agents to help grow a new program within OnDeck by helping businesses find financing that OnDeck could not provide themselves. While matching and placing business owners with external partners, Associate Referral Agents will learn our products, have first-hand visibility into the industry, and help identify trends in the market. These individuals will be a direct point of contact for our applicants and our internal sales teams as they establish relationships with our cross-functional teams and external partners. 

As an Associate Referral Agent at OnDeck, you will:

  • Speak with (by phone and email) OnDeck applicants and business financing inquirers
  • Analyze business profiles (including bank statements) for partner matching possibilities
  • Act resourcefully and in an innovative way to solve problems and complete tasks
  • Submit and/or transfer business owners to trusted lending partners that make sense for them
  • Excellent communication skills, both on the phone and over email
  • Work cross-functionally with OnDeck sales, marketing and business development teams to minimize process friction
  • Collaborate with external lending partners to optimize processes
  • Report to management on customer relationships, pipeline, and new business

Qualifications for success:

  • Loves small businesses and helping them find funding that meets their needs
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Consistency in output, results and process
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Understand internal and external customers
  • 1-2 years of prior sales or customer service experience
  • High-energy, relationship expert
  • A desire to grow professionally and a drive to succeed 

Nice-to-haves (not required):

  • CRM experience
  • Industry knowledge
