An experienced editor and content leader to oversee the strategy and execution of the Fundera Ledger, assigning and managing the editorial team to grow the Fundera Ledger into a top small business publication.   Sound like you? As Our Managing Editor, You’ll...

    • Set the overall content strategy for the Fundera Ledger, including cadence, verticals, themes, and more. You’ll own and create our monthly editorial calendar well in-advance of publishing dates, using data, performance history, and intended distribution channel to finalize titles.
    • Build and manage an internal editorial team of writers and editors, making Fundera one of the most-sought after places to work for journalists and content marketers interested in brand publishing. You’ll also manage a well-rounded bench of external contributors, making sure we have subject-matter experts in place for every topic we cover.
    • Assign titles to best-fit writers for both the Ledger and external content, managing their respective deadlines.
    • Create guidelines for all of Fundera’s editorial efforts (including the Ledger and external content), unifying the voice and format of all articles, increasing the overall quality and integrity of content produced to ensure we’re in the best position to secure content partners and establish ourselves as a publishing leader.
    • Perform first-round edits on each piece of Ledger and external content.
    • Own and increase key engagement metrics for the Ledger, such as page views, returning readers, session duration, and pages per visit.
    • Communicate with Audience Development to understand how content is performing across the various distribution and business channels, and use the performance of these pieces across their respective channels to inform future content strategy.

You’ll Need to Have…

    • 7+ years writing and editing for a digital brand.
    • Experience working cross-functionally to launch new content products for high-visibility brands.
    • Experience owning and assigning a high-frequency editorial calendar.
    • Impeccable editing and writing skills.
    • Expert knowledge of Wordpress and Google Analytics.
    • Experience managing writers and editors.
    • Familiarity with SEO and audience development and how brand publishing relates to business objectives.
