Position Description

Reporting to the Manager Valuation Services, you will be responsible for managing the day to day appraisal management operations and strategy of the network of independent fee appraisers in your geographic region. Your analytic, communicative and personable nature will give you the edge necessary to build strong, long-term relationships within the appraiser community in order to deliver our service offering while exceeding internal and client expectations and performance targets.


  • Develop and maintain a high quality network of independent appraisers across your region ensuring adequate coverage of appraisers who share our values on quality and service level delivery;
  • Oversee recruitment, on-boarding and panel management of the independent appraiser network in your region;
  • Through a combination of analytics and relationship building, ensure that in your regions targets for quality, on-time delivery, first time quality (efficiency, low touch points) and cost to serve are exceeded;
  • Through analysis of appraiser performance metrics, use of appraiser communication / training (i.e. webinars, etc.) and relationship building, determine and execute a proper strategy to ensure appraiser effectiveness in quality, performance and proactive communication (Updates);
  • You will continually build and refine a dynamically changing panel of appraisals that outperform expectations;
  • Effective operational utilization of human resources and technology creating net margin that exceeds targets while at the same time exceeding performance expectations;
  • Optimize the use of technology to effectively manage the appraisal process to produce low-cost / high impact results;
  • Create and conduct educational programs for appraisers to align with our values on quality and performance;
  • Ensure effective configuration and utilization of Task Manager to efficiently manage on-time delivery of appraisals on a transactional basis in your region;
  • Properly resolve appraiser complaints and escalations to, if possible the satisfaction of all parties;
  • Liaise with your internal client the Account Management team to review client performance and issues to ensure external clients have a high level of satisfaction while maintaining an optimal P&L for the organization;
  • Ensure transactions are completed in compliance with Federal and State Regulations as well as Appraiser Independence Provisions;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Expertise Required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Some knowledge in appraisal/financial services/collateral risk management industries a strong a plus;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Experience in leading and/or fostering collaboration between diverse internal and external stakeholders;
  • Proven team leader with ability to drive results;
  • Current knowledge of regulatory environment as relevant to property valuations;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Results oriented.
