Job Description


DemystData is looking for an engineer to play a central role in delivering Demyst platform (Labs and Gateway), an exciting new product of the next generation real-time, data access solution for financial services around the globe. As a Client Data Engineer at Demyst, you can expect to learn to design/build/launch data access software while interacting directly with institutional clients.

The Client Data Engineer role will be a part of larger distributed team across US and APAC.

Our Solution

Demyst is an External Enterprise Data Platform, used by major US and APAC financial institutions to better discover, test, and deploy third party data solutions. Leading banks and insurers leverage our platform to find and test new data to incorporate into decision processes across the customer lifecycle.


The Challenge

Active end-to-end involvement in the entire product delivery process: from conversations with client to map out potential use cases to architecting and writing/testing codes, from prototyping to coordinating enterprise production launches.



➔ Develop API solutions from high-level design and prototyping to application development and data integration using Demyst products

➔ Implement and configure Demyst products to serve client-specific use cases

➔ Build reusable components to extend the use cases of Demyst platform

➔ Write documentation for internal management of applications/products

➔ On-call production support rotations



➔ Work with clients to understand their existing workflow and scope out use cases where Demyst products will provide the most value

➔ Provide advice to our clients on how to clean, manage and structure their data effectively

➔ Engage with technical counterparties to design suitable API solutions

➔ Maintain an ongoing relationship with our clients by handling data and software related support requests

➔ Work onsite with customers to manage complex enterprise deployments with travelling required up to 50% of the time to domestic and international locations


Your Expertise

➔ 1+ years of working in a collaborative software engineering role

➔ Excellent collaboration skills: comfortable communicating with both technical and lay audience

➔ More focus on coding and the application of statistics, distributed systems and data architecture

➔ Languages for production include: 1+ years of experience in Ruby / Python / Scala

➔ Languages for analysis / scripting include: 1+ years of experience in R / Python / VBA

➔ Knowledge of Amazon AWS and DevOps

➔ Four year or postgraduate degree in a job-relevant field of study plus relevant work experience (Your colleagues will have advanced degrees from Computer Science / Statistics / Economics)
