Job Description

At Affirm, we truly understand that learning is critical to our success. We are seeking an inspiring and accomplished Senior Learning and Development Partner to join our Talent Development Team and build exceptional learning experiences for Affirmers. The Talent Development Team helps Affirmers solve real business problems to drive business success - that means that we need to understand where Affirm is going, how people work, and what they need to be successful. To do this, you’ll partner closely with our People Team, business leaders, people managers, and external partners. This role reports to the Head of Talent Development.

What you'll do

    • Learning programs: Lead the design and implementation of Affirm’s core learning programs including employee on-boarding, manager on-boarding and all manager effectiveness programs.
    • Understand business needs: Be curious and proactively seek to understand our business, our strategy, and what makes Affirmers tick. Use a mix of qualitative and quantitative assessment tools to identify performance gaps, and align with stakeholders on learning objectives and success metrics.
    • Design: Use deep expertise to design impactful and engaging solutions. Utilize a range of approaches including workshops, coaching circles, micro-learning, digital learning and assessment tools. Leverage external partners in a targeted way that still preserves our need to be scrappy.
    • Facilitation: Adapt your style to the needs of our learners, meet them where they’re at, and help employees feel supported and engaged.
    • Program Management: Manage programs from start to finish with attention to every detail along the way. This includes excelling in scoping, planning, cross-team collaboration, execution and measuring success. Ensure the whole organization understands how we onboard Affirmers and develop our managers, including who to go to, the process, what they’ll learn, expectations etc.
    • Evaluation: Ensure every program has a clear evaluation strategy in place. Track and regularly report on program impact. Share metrics and insights with the People Team and business leaders so that we can take a systems thinking approach.

What we look for

    • Passionate and experienced learning professional who combines strong business acumen with leading-edge learning expertise.
    • 7+ years of L&D experience in roles of increasing complexity/scope; have a deep expertise in management development.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Behavior or equivalent experience.
    • Master facilitation and design skills; proven ability to design and deliver world-class learning programs.
    • Experience establishing a digital learning strategy.
    • Ability to influence effectively at all levels and across all functions.
    • Ability to define the process while keeping things light and adaptable. Outstanding program management skills.
    • Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
    • Previous experience working in fast-paced environments and navigating scale.
