Job Description

Remitly is looking for a Senior Manager, Human Resources to help design and execute our global HR technology, Compliance, and Benefits strategy in addition to providing business partner support as needed. The role is an integral part of the HR management team and has primary responsibilities for leading the development, deployment and support of new and existing processes and tools to improve workforce productivity and minimize administrative burden. The role is the senior HR expert accountable for ensuring process improvement and the successful scaled delivery of HR services to our global workforce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Working with the Chief People Officer, help build and implement new strategic HR programs including, but not limited to:

HR Technology:

  • Assess and deliver technology solutions - subject matter expert on ATS, HRIS, LMS, Intranet, WiKi, etc
  • Manage critical integrations with Payroll, Finance GL, Active Directory, etc.
  • Identify new opportunities – assess and prioritize system and process needs based on business requirements, thoroughly understanding the product and know the right questions to ask, develop business case for new initiatives and obtain stakeholder support
  • Build partnerships with development teams – work closely with other technology teams (IT, etc) to deliver tools and system solutions, help define user stories, research appropriate technical solutions
  • Drive operational excellence – build HR processes and tools that ensure a high-quality employee experience as well as compliance with policies and regulations

Compliance:

  • Ensure global compliance in all HR areas via process documentation, manuals, training, regular audits and proactive reporting
  • Manage all required HR reporting at the federal, state and local levels
  • Partner with Global HR teams to ensure global HR compliance

Benefits Administration:

  • Administer the health and welfare, retirement, fringe benefits, and all other company provided plans
  • Manage annual open enrollment with broker
  • Perform employee enrollment and changes in online portals and serve as main contact with benefit vendors
  • Assist Plan Administrator with administration of 401k plan
  • Coordinate terminated employee benefits (i.e. COBRA and retirement benefit programs) through selected vendors
  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices

Business Partner:

  • Work with business unit management to diagnose, develop and implement HR plans and solutions in order to achieve strategic business initiatives
  • Work with line managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues ensuring a balance in representing all parties’ interests
  • Partner with managers to retain, develop and motivate people to achieve their fullest potential

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate effective presentation and written communication skills: will support broader communications efforts of leadership team
  • Change Management capabilities: must be able to navigate leaders through a variety of organizational transitions
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a business and HR team
  • Works well across business teams and corporate functions
  • The ability to relate to, influence and coach employees of all levels in the organization
  • Ability to function in a fast paced and innovative environment

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ year dedicated HRIS experience (RFP, implementation, integration, maintenance, upgrades, patches, working with 3rd party vendors)
  • 3+ years managing national HR compliance programs
  • 5+ years Benefits Administration
  • 7+ years of experience in an HR generalist or HR business partner role in a private, technology company
  • Bachelor's degree
  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Project/Program Management skills
  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to incorporate company perspective with individual business category priorities while advising employees at all levels
