Job Description

About Earnin:

Our financial system is fundamentally unfair for people who live paycheck to paycheck.  People shouldn’t have to wait weeks to get the pay they’ve already earned.  This wait forces them to spend more than $100 billion a year on short-term credit products, late fees and overdraft fees.

Earnin helps people overcome this unfairness by giving them real-time access to their money as soon as they have worked -- without fees or interest.

Our team is bound together by a desire to level the financial playing field.  Our investors, Andreessen Horowitz, Ribbit Capital, Felicis Ventures, Matrix Partners and March Capital believe we will change the world.

You can help make a difference.  Join us.

About the Team:

Earnin is looking for a multidisciplinary Product Design Lead to join our close-knit product team.  You'll work hands-on with engineers, product managers and other team members to develop design strategies for our consumer product across the Earnin platform.  Our team iterates fast, utilizes data, and collaborates closely with our cross functional teams.  We are looking for someone who has experience leading a small design team that makes a BIG impact on a mobile product that helps people.

What Set Us Apart:

  • We're building a product that truly helps people who are struggling financially.
  •  Solving unique scalability challenges in a fast growing company.
  • High impact roles at a relatively small company for our user base.

As a Product Design Lead you will:

  • Build and lead a small team as a player/coach.
  • Work with product managers, engineers, data analysts, marketing, and others to help define strategy and product requirements.
  • Drive the user experience and the look & feel for our iOS and Android apps.  You have the ability to view individual projects and assets as a moving piece, and have the ability to orchestrate them accordingly.
  • Show attention to detail on all levels while constantly brainstorming new ideas and optimizing current designs.

Some skills we consider critical to being a Product Design Lead:

  • You've lead a design team - you have experience leading and mentoring a design team with a focus on user facing/consumer projects.
  • You've shipped products and are willing/able to demonstrate how you solved specific problems to solve users needs.
  • Excellent communication in presenting designs and communicating what problems they are solving while giving/receiving feedback.
  • Demonstrated use of user-centered design principles as well as an understanding of trends in mobile design.
