Job Description

Your Mission:

To love prospecting new business by visiting small business owners at their store locations and local events. To genuinely care about why they’re in business and to show the value Kabbage can bring which should lead to helping them start and complete an application. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Become an expert in the small business landscape, understand the cash flow trends and successfully coach SMB owners on how to grow their revenues
  • Cold call and set appointments to guide SMB owners through the application process
  • Gain a strong understanding on how the Kabbage lending platform and all new products work
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of your merchant’s business and adopt a use case selling approach
  • Utilizes internal tools to optimize performance
  • Demonstrate an understanding of market trends and seasonality

  • Curious: willing and wanting to ask small business owners the right questions to understand their business needs, wants, and pain points


What you should have:

  • 2-5 years of experience with successfully approaching and selling to small business owners in a credible and professional manner, with evidence of helping them to achieve their goals.
  • Self-motivated, resilient and tenacious; keep going when the going gets tough
  • Must be comfortable with a rapidly-changing company
  • Demonstrable analytic, problem solving, and leadership skills 
  • Highly organized and plans and prioritizes work effectively
  • Must have excellent communication and influencing skills, and be able to work across multiple groups with ease
  • Strong relationship builder and a team player
  • A constant drive to improve the experience of our users and our internal processes: "How can I make things better?"
  • Desire to grow personally and professionally - “a love for learning”
  • Experience with the CRM platform, Salesforce.com, is a plus!
