Symphony is a platform that provides end-to-end secure messaging and we are seeking a creative, results-oriented Cloud Architect to drive the design of an ever-evolving complex global real-time messaging system focused on enterprise-grade high availability and performance.

As Cloud Architect, you will lead and inspire multiple teams of engineers who are developing a highly distributed cloud based system. You will guide and champion the overall technical vision of how an api-first cloud-native platform can better support the needs of various internal and external client applications.  You will play a technical leadership role helping multiple teams meet ambitious technical, operational, schedule, and business requirements. The ideal candidate will be a global-system wide and cloud-native thinker with a passion for creating products that deliver incredible customer experiences and have deep experience throughout the entire stack.


  • Drive culture of data-driven decision making
  • Work closely with engineering teams to implement cloud-based solutions and data services
  • Design application cloud environments with a focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Demonstrate Technical Cloud Architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, test, and development cloud infrastructures
  • Assist in triage of other projects/programs and makes technical recommendations to senior-level leadership
  • Provide technical thought leadership, focusing on architectural and industry best practices
  • Partner with application architects and engineering teams to define optimization roadmaps to take advantage of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
  • Work with application architects and engineering teams to build new capabilities based on cloud-native technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years experience architecting, migrating, and developing technology solutions with AWS public cloud
  • In depth knowledge of AWS and GCP cloud offerings and how they can be effectively used
  • Strong understanding of best architectural practices deploying in a cloud-native environment on AWS and GCP cloud platforms
  • Strong understanding of managed service offerings from AWS and GCP cloud platforms
  • Cloud application development: DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD
  • Strong understanding and experience with microservices and service oriented architecture
  • Experience migrating from monolithic to microservices architectures
  • Hands-on experience as required to perform technical proof of concepts
  • Experience in preparing architecture diagrams and writing design documents
  • Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior executives
  • Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication
  • 10+ years of architecture, design, and implementation of highly distributed applications (i.e. having an architectural sense for ensuring availability, reliability, fault-tolerance, horizontal scale-out, etc.)
