Job Description

At Klarna we aspire be the world’s favorite way to buy. With continued growth and increasing complexity in our organizational structure in the US, our need for efficient management control becomes vitally important. Now we are looking for an analytical and socially skilled individual, with a great mind for business and finance, to join our Financial Planning and Analysis team as a FP&A Analyst at our U.S. HQ in Columbus, Ohio.

The Financial Planning and Analysis team (FP&A) is responsible for providing decision support to management by analyzing company performance, evaluating business opportunities, and developing models for financial and operational planning and forecasting. You will be the only member of our American team but receive support from your European counterparts. The team in Sweden consists of analysts with different areas of expertise but at least two shared attributes: driven and talented.

What you will be doing

As FP&A Analyst you will support Klarna in taking the right decisions and allocating our resources to where they generate the most value. You will also, through close collaboration with division heads, be a trusted advisor and provide analysis of business opportunities and projects. While working close to the operational side of our business you will be tasked with maintaining an efficient flow in key financial processes such as business planning, budgeting, and follow-up. The role is vital in enabling the divisions to steer towards their operational and financial targets; in many instances, you will be considered more of a Finance Business Partner than Analyst.

Who we think you are

  • You may have some practical experience from a similar FP&A related position, but your adaptable and positive ambition will be your strongest asset.
  • Excel skills are vital to success, and you should have expert knowledge and ability.
  • You want to have a job where your input has tangible and positive effect on the organization.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to change, often.
  • Communication skills are extremely important - you will be collaborating with senior management daily.
  • You will have experience in performing market strategy analysis and will be expected to support management by creating business review presentations.
  • Ability to field and prioritize ad hoc projects.
  • You’re deadline driven and understand the importance of time management.
  • Top candidates will have data mining, analysis, and/or statistical modeling experience.
  • As a person, you have the ability to approach problems and situations from different perspectives. You are motivated by continuous improvement and are able to drive projects and initiatives independently. You are a team player and dare to stand your ground while at the same time maintaining flexibility. You get energy from contributing and helping your team deliver on time.

Other basics

  • Required 3+ years of related (FP&A) work experience.
  • Required 4 year degree (Bachelor’s) in business, finance, etc.
  • Ability to travel internationally for 2-4 weeks annually.
  • Expert skills in MS Excel, intermediate skills in Powerpoint.
  • Job location: Columbus, OH.

What we offer

We offer you a dynamic work environment with some of the brightest colleagues around. You will join our company’s newest and most expansive market and therefore have a substantial impact on the future processes and procedures that this team will have. If you want to be where the action is, this is the role for you. The position also offers high internal transparency and the successful candidate will truly be in a position where the opportunities for development and career prospects are endless.
