Tap the WorldRemit App or click our website and your international transfer is made – to a bank account, cash pickup, Mobile Money, or airtime top-up. We send to more than 120 countries and the number is growing all the time.

Using WorldRemit is easy because we do the hard bit, connecting hundreds of banks, money agents, mobile operators and payment systems around the world. These were never designed to work together, but WorldRemit makes it happen.

What is the role?

This opportunity is for a paid one year placement sitting in an essential part of our high growth, fast moving business; the finance department. They control incoming and outgoing funds, ensure that correspondents are appropriately funded and protect our company assets. Without them we definitely couldn't function! We have internship vacancies across a number of finance teams, all are looking for driven, switched on candidates ready to hit the ground running. The finance team is separated into different functions including: Financial Operations, Financial Reporting and Control teams.

This is an excellent chance for a curious and ambitious candidate to join our team and get thrown in the deep end! We’ll support you every step of the way as you learn about how our business works. This could include learning about reconciliations, refunds, fraudulent transactions and the funds lifecycle. You will be exposed to finance software such as NetSuite and learn system skills such as SQL. Your responsibilities will include the following;

  • Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations
  • Ensuring funds to our customers are processed quickly and accurately
  • Preparing and posting of cashbooks
  • Calculating and posting of foreign exchange gains and or losses on transactions

Skill Requirements:

We’re looking for a candidate on track to get a 2:1 or above in a relevant degree, who can easily commute to us here in Victoria and would be able join the team in early-mid June. If you’re keen to learn, outgoing and want to get tonnes of hands-on experience; simply click that apply button and write us a cover letter – we’ll get back to you as soon as possible! :)
