Job Description

The Financial Platform Ops team enables smooth, scaled, mutually beneficial interactions between Stripe and its financial partners. The team understands the rules and processes that the financial partners work within and ensures that these work well for Stripe and its users. The team is responsible for chargeback monitoring programs, compliance programs and other requests from the partners. The team works with merchants in educating them about the programs and works with them to solve their fraud and brand issues.

The Identity Verification Program Manager will work closely with engineering to prioritize projects that will make Stripe compliant in all geographies. Risk will benefit through development of identity related product interventions that can be used for false positive reduction. The Verifications Program Manager will continue to work closely with Compliance, Risk, Engineering, and Legal.

You will:

  • Be the content expert in identity verification at Stripe by understanding and documenting identity and verification needs across products, teams and countries.
  • Be responsible for verification readiness by coordinating across country launches, products by working with Business, Engineering, and Compliance teams
  • Partner with Product teams to determine requirements across onboarding experiences, including Direct, Standalone, Managed, Atlas, and Hestia; partner with - Compliance Engineering and Risk Engineering on Verifications Platform and merchant data models
  • Work with Compliance and Risk Engineering to prioritize projects to achieve verification goals
  • Work closely with Compliance, Legal, Tax, and Financial Stack to ensure compliance, regulatory, and partner requirements are met
  • Serve as the primary contact for all vendors to share product needs and negotiate appropriate pricing and volume discounts
  • Serve as the data expert across integrations and countries; hunt for and execute on opportunities to increase match rates
  • Identify areas for improvement and optimize our internal operations

  • Skilled at writing SQL to query relational databases. Makes clear data-driven decisions
  • Has a strong background in operational excellence and proven track record of building programs to scale
  • Is motivated by understanding how users are using the product and collate feedback to remove bottlenecks
  • Thrives on collaboration with a diverse set of cross-functional partners, from Legal/Compliance, Product, Business, and Engineering
  • Has a strong ability to drive vendor negotiations, roadmaps, and costs
  • Has 4+ years of experience, preferably in a program management role (as a plus but not required) Experience in identity verification or in payments
  • Identify areas for improvement and optimize our internal operations
