GoCardless London, UK
May 29, 2019Full time
About us Since GoCardless was set up in 2011, we have focused on taking the pain out of getting paid so that our customers can focus on what they do best. We already process over £10bn each year for tens of thousands of businesses, and we are growing fast. We work with a huge range of organisations: small gyms and scout groups use us to reduce admin; fast growing companies like Funding Circle use us to power their growth; established companies like TripAdvisor use us to dramatically reduce failure rates. We’ve been spending the last year expanding our offering outside of UK and Europe and are now operating 7 different payment schemes (and will be adding the US soon) and serving merchants in over 30 countries, with offices in Melbourne, Paris, Munich and of course, London (our HQ). We’re backed by some of the world’s leading investors including GV (formerly Google Ventures), Adam Street Partners, Salesforce Ventures, Balderton Capital, Accel Partners, Notion Capital and Passion Capital. The Team Banking & Scheme Development is a small but strategically important team that operates within Banking Operations. The remit of the team is to assist delivery of key company objectives through delivering the infrastructure to support our rapid, international expansions and growing number of banking partners and payment schemes. Alongside aiding our international growth, through adding banking partners and payment scheme access the team also works on other projects, such as improving our existing infrastructure and ensuring resilience across our network. Completing any due diligence requirements and establishing the structure to move funds. Managing the project through its lifecycle from research to launch. Working closely with Product, Sales, Operations and Engineering to ensure the project runs smoothly and is built to provide best in class access. Create and communicate the internal documentation that will support the new payment scheme. You will be the principal source of knowledge. The role requires a good level of technical detail but will also allow for a deeper understanding of the wider product and business. Some travel will likely be required to visit new scheme countries or countries where you are running projects. You should be willing to work across time zones when the project requires it. What we're looking for You enjoy digging into the detail – Before we can launch a new payment scheme, we can’t leave any stone unturned to ensure that GoCardless can offer its first class product in the new payment scheme. You can digest and articulate the local payment scheme rules, basic technical aspects (access models, file formats etc) and can translate payment scheme requirements into GoCardless language. You have strong project management skills. A proven track record of delivering projects and being able to report the progress. You have a track record of meeting tight deadlines. You have very strong negotiation and influencing skills. You have relationship building skills and experience dealing with working with external suppliers, ideally banking partners. A real solution finder. You’re great at removing roadblocks and identifying new ways of doing things and don’t get discouraged when the first, second or third response is no. You understand the payments sector, the various players throughout the payments value chain and preferably have had exposure to global markets. You ideally have experience with technical integrations and reporting. You know how to communicate across various levels, senior as well as junior externally as well as internally. Your communication is structured and crisp. Our team comes from a variety of backgrounds and we welcome diversity – if you're unsure, please apply.
